The final week of May proved to be the most productive of the month. Although overhead conditions were challenging at times, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday due to bright blue skies and light winds, our visiting anglers stuck at it and their perseverance was rewarded.

Andy Wunch made his maiden trip to Scotland from Montana and was rewarding within a few casts, landing his fist ever Atlantic salmon from loch Beg on Monday, he added a second from beat 9 on Saturday. Toby Andersson had a great week landing three, the best 14lb from beat 4. Tim Hawes landed his first of the season from beat 9 weighing 13lb. The two John's, Goodman and Graham got up early on Thursday to beat the sun and had a one each, Peter Riley and Mark Bird adding one each to the total.

Most of the springers caught this week have been very fresh, likely entering the river early in the week. Looking ahead the forecast is suggesting unsettled weather with periods of heavy rain. The first grilse were seen on Friday and Saturday, we should see their numbers increase over the next couple of weeks.
Tight lines next week.
