Weekly Report

We ended the week with an excellent total of 28 fish which is one of the best April weeks in many years, giving us a total of 57 for the month which is well above both 10 and 5-year averages. Often the question asked after such a productive week is what brought about this upturn in catches, well a mixture of the right overheads with Cooler air and water temperatures certainly helped, but most importantly is having decent numbers of salmon which we undoubtedly have seen over the last few weeks with good numbers of fresh fish entering daily.

Scott Latimer had the first of the week form beat 9, Scott would follow this up with a further 3 for his week, his angling companion Arthur Muirhead had our largest of the week at just over 16 pounds from the lower fence pool on beat 2. Ed Mclellan had 4 in three days, Stuart Dawson returned for his second trip of the season and had 5 in two days from beats 8 and 9.

Other anglers in about the catches were Dave Mercer,  Graeme Legg, Trevor Smith and Robert Jamieson with three including two on Saturday from beat 3, Iain Macdonald, Mike Firth and Peter Grubb all adding to the final total.

So what will next week bring, much of the same is definitely on the cards provided the weather plays its part, it looks like it will remain cool with below-average temperatures for early May.

Tight lines next week.
