Red Braes (beat 3)

Weekly Report

The settled weather from the previous week continued with light winds and long periods of warming sunshine which has been very welcome after such a tough winter.  Temperatures dropped towards the end of the week with a few nights of hard frost.

There are sure signs that spring is just around the corner with the calls of territorial grouse echoing across the flow country on the upper beats, oystercatchers and golden plovers have been spotted down on beat 10. It will not be long before the unmistakable call of the curlew will be heard once again.

All we are waiting on now is that elusive first springer of the season.

Tight lines next week.
