Loch Beg

Weekly Report

With thirty-five fish caught between Monday and Tuesday, it was looking like another strong week of catches. Unfortunately, summer decided to return for a few days with air temperatures well into the 20s, this switched the fish off, with only a handful caught during the middle of the week. Considering the overhead conditions we can be reasonably satisfied with a total of 50.

Fishing after sunset on Loch Beg

Tim Morgan carried on from where he left off last week and picked up nine, Richard Lamarche had three for his short visit, Peter Nicholas had a brace, as did Callum Cheape. Peter Bowling picked up a 20lb fish from Beat 3, and Richard Medley had four. Christian Hampel had five in a day and his wife Heike had her first ever salmon. Julian Pullan caught his first Thurso salmon from Bt 3.

Henry Polson had three, Eddie Medley, Edd McLeallan, James Robbins, Philip Pledger, John Gordon, Basil Tower and Douglas Cormie all picked up a fish each. Stuart Ingledew had one on Saturday from Loch More.

Next week looks as if it may be somewhat cooler with the wind switching to a northerly direction by midweek.

Tight lines next week.
