Following on from our best week of the season hopes were high that catches would continue to be strong. Heavy rain during the early  hours of Tuesday morning caused the river to rise rapidly. While this essentially left all but the upper beats washed out the river soon settled and by Wednesday morning levels had settled back to 24 inches on the Halkirk gauge. From that point onward the fishing was outstanding resulting in a very impressive 144 landed for the week.

Brothers Peter and Nigel Olesen had a great week with well over 20 between them. Keith Ogden landed nine, Liam Higgins with five, the best 18lb from beat 12. Callum Cheape also landed one of 18lb from beat 4 and ended the week with a total of twelve. Adrian Brightley and Johny Garland shared fourteen and Richard Jewell landed eleven. Mark Newton's team had a total of fifteen. Alec Cuppage, Damien Greenish, Robert Graham-Campbell, Brian Emslie and Nick Pattie with sixteen between them. Graham Jones, Ken Debney, Chris Adam, Tim and Su Hawes all adding to the final total.

To put the last few weeks into context, we have landed more in the last ten fishing days than the entire 2025 season. While a wetter season has certainly helped there is no doubt there has been better numbers of returning salmon this year. With Loch More spilling over we have more than enough water to see out the final two weeks of the season.
