Air temperatures climbed rapidly throughout Sunday night and Monday. We saw an initial rise from the tributaries peaking at just under three feet. This was followed by another surge on Tuesday from loch More with levels rising again to over four feet. Unfortunately this rendered the river unfishable for a few days.
The latter half of the week brought settled weather and better levels allowing for some fishing. A few locals and ghillies took advantage of the fine weather to wet a line, although there is no sign yet of that elusive January spring salmon.
Next week looks settled with little rain forecast although colder easterly winds are predicted as we head towards next weekend.
Tight lines next week.
