It was a quiet week on the banks of the Thurso with the dreaded easterly winds curtailing fishing effort. Air temperatures struggled to rise much above 5c, once the wind chill factor was added it felt closer to freezing.
Next week will see a continuation of these cold winds. However, by next weekend and change is on the cards with predominantly westerly winds forecast, a much kinder wind for the Thurso.
