Weekly Report

The the new week started full of excitement and anticipation following the previous weeks catches, and although we didn't catch as many it was still a solid six days. The majority of the salmon caught were still muti-sea winter fish with a good number  weighing in the teens of pounds. We had our first grilse of the season and should see their numbers continue to increase in the coming weeks.

A fresh grilse

Notable catches included Andrew Hunter with two in 40 minutes from beat 9, best 14lb. Alan More-Nesbit picked up two and Gemma Park landed the first grilse from beat 9. Dougie Reid had a great morning on beat 9 with three, best a beautiful, fresh 18-pounder. Ronnie Fraser enjoyed his first experience of the Thurso landing four. Pat Nicol got his season up and running with a 15lb fish from beat 9. Eddie Bremner had an outstanding week landing six to his own rod. Ross Urquhart, Geoff Henstridge and John Wildgoose all picking up a few.

Loch More has held up well thanks to heavy showers earlier in the week giving us enough water through to early July.

Tight lines next week.
