It was another solid week with 30 plus fish in the book. The weather forecast at the start of the week gave periods of heavy rain, unfortunately it would not be enough to give us the big spate we are looking for, we did get a small rise on Tuesday which was short lived, the river dropped to its original level within 24 hours. With the nights getting longer water temperatures are getting a chance to cool down.
Peter Duncan and his son young Pete shared eight between them, Freddy Sutherland had four, not bad for an 85 year old, Dr Mike Leach picked up three including a 15lbr from beat 2. Nigel Cox had five and his father Peter had one on Saturday from beat 2. Iain Bain had three, his brother Roy had his first Thurso salmon from Loch Beg on Friday. Vince Manning was another who broke his Thurso duck with a fresh 7lbr form the lower Suilag on beat 3. Graham Bruce-Gardener and Liam Milliken rounding of the catches.
We continue to see fresh fish enter the river daily, although not in the numbers we seen throughout July with numbers starting to build up in the estuary.
Tight lines next week.
