It has been just over a month since the fishing season concluded. The website has had its annual update, the boats and huts have been secured for winter, and the team have managed to get some well earned rest and relaxation.

October brought a significant amount of rainfall over the Thurso catchment, particularly during the second half of the month with over 150mm recorded. This resulted in high river levels and loch more brim full. While it was a bit late for the fishing season these conditions have certainly helped in enabling the salmon navigate their way to their final destination on the spawning grounds.

We are hopeful that the weather will settle down enough over the coming weeks which will allow us to conduct visual inspections of fish numbers on the redds.
