The weather throughout the week has been unsettled and allowed the anglers to see more fish on calmer days. The week started with strong winds which by the end of the week lessened, but the daily temperature has been cooler.
In the estuary we are starting to see more fish showing around the bay. Anglers are moving, rising and had a few fish on this week. Long down stream lines, small flies and a stealthy approach is what we would recommend to maximise your chances.
Encouragingly, on the lower beats the first grilse have appeared and more will be likely to run the river at this height.
The team on the river are working hard to keep the banks maintained, provide alternatives as well such as exploring the hill lochs for trout and sea fishing for which early booking is advised.
