It was a challenging week on the river due to highly variable weather conditions. The week started with flat calms that were followed by extended periods of clear blue skies. The week ended with gales bringing a distinctly autumnal feel.

Andrew Hunter and his team of rods enjoyed their first visit to the Thurso with successful members including, Andrew Hunter, Wumpy Hunter, Andrew Rankin, Jake Boyle, John Willis, Mark Lee and John Downing. Other highlights for the week were Joe Harrison with a brace, best 17lb from beat 9. Ian Neville also landed two with his wife Shelley landing one. Tim and Lena Sperring had one each from beat 8 while Rob Maundrell landed three. Raymond Stewart, Colin McDowall, Andrew Hamilton, Steve Pickering and Alan White all in about the catches.

At the time of writing this report there has been heavy rainfall that may well see the largest spate since April come Monday morning.
