We had a solid start to the week with 12 landed for the first two days. After that the weather became inconsistent, ranging from one extreme to the other. Flat calms one day, gale force winds the next, combined with rising temperatures and increasing blue skies towards the end of the week it came as no surprise the fishing suffered a little.

Frank Cotton had a great start to the week with two on Monday morning from beat 9 weighing 10 and 5lb. Perra Eriksson-Frank landed his first Thurso salmon, 13lb from beat 9 and followed it up with a second the following day from beat 7. Chris Makin Landed two on consecutive days from beats 2 and 13. Helmut Thiery and Stefan Luecke shared four. Eric Chollet and his team had a great week landing eight. Alan Hodgeson, Chris Sutcliffe, John Brownlie, Bruce Clayton and David Christian Rounding of the catches for the week.

It would be fair to see the first half of the week was generally quiet in terms of fresh grilse entering the river, however as the week progressed there were defiantly signs of larger numbers running and a few also showing in the estuary, some cooler weather would be very helpful.
