February has past, and unfortunately we have yet to bump into a spring salmon, although there will undoubtedly a few in the river by now. Looking back over the month it was very lightly fished until the final few days.
High pressure dominated the weather over the last seven days, resulting in clear blue skies, overnight frosts and light winds. While the lengthening days a warm sunshine were very welcome these were not ideal fishing overheads.
Next week appears a little more unsettled, with weather systems moving in from the west bringing periods of rain and strong winds.
Tight lines next week.
