The wait for any meaningful rain in the northeast of Scotland continues. There was a little hope earlier in the week, but unfortunately, it was short-lived to make any difference.
One interesting thing that has happened this week is we are seeing a run of sea trout in the lower beats, while not particularly large, mainly in the 2-pounded range, they have been a welcome sight and an interesting topic of discussion.
Shelly Neville had an 8lb fish from lower Suilag on beat 3. David Mercer also had one at 7lb from the corner pool on beat 3 and Callum Cheape with another at 6lb from the corner pool. William Thomson did well to pick one up from Cruives eye on beat 10.
Monday looks wet again with bands of heavy rain pushing through, time will tell if it will give us a much needed lift in levels.
Tight lines next week.
