It feels like there a few fish about now. Next week looks unsettled but thankfully not as cold as the last few days.

Adapting to the conditions is essential. Lighter winds require a more subtle lighter setup, while those windy days Caithness is renowned for something beefer may be required. Fly pattern and size is as much about self confidence, however patterns like the Willie Gunn, Park Shrimp and the Puppy Dog are firm favourites in the spring.
