A cold week on the river, frosts most nights and frequent snow showers. The saving grace was that the wind didn't blow too hard and at times when the sun was out the fishing was very pleasant. The water was dropping all week and we finished with some very nice water, but sadly no fish. Even the kelts were not responding in the cold conditions.
It is very noticeable that the days are getting longer and when the sun does shine it has some power in it and feels warm. In the garden the snowdrops are out and last Saturday I heard my first skylark signing. Next week the weather changes and we will see a rise in temperature, we are all optimistic, but certainly I think the conditions will start to turn in favour as the week goes on.
Tight lines to you all for the coming week
