Another exceptionally hard week on the river, the river is at its lowest level for many years and most days have been wall to wall sunshine. We did take a couple of fish, one being a sea-liced 4lb grilse from beat 3. Other grilse have been seen in the river and this am a few were seen on beat 2, where one was hooked and lost.
It looks like the June total will be around 27, depending on what happens today, this is only a tenth of what we would normally expect, but no rain no fish!
A number of rods have been sampling the trout fishing and have have had good days on Loch More and Loch Toftingal, with trout up to 2.5lbs Sea fishing has been excellent with good numbers of Haddock and Cod landed as well as a number of other species, both from shore and boat. The boat fishers also had sightings of Dolphins and Porpoises, which was an added bonus.
The fish are building up in the bay and a few grilse will work their way into the lower beats, but we need rain and lots of it, the ground is very dry and it looks like next week is going to be dry and sunny again.
