We ended the week with two fish in the book and with a few close calls and sightings of running fish there is signs of a few more throughout the river.
The river and weather settled down as the week progressed and spring really kicked in with bright warm sunshine although at times the wind still had an edge to it. It will not be long before we see the osprey return for summer while thousands of geese gather for their migration north, the curlew call can be heard with more regularity which is one of the iconic sounds of the caithness flow country.
Looking ahead the weather is looking unsettled for the first few days of next with gales and strong winds before high pressure takes over later in the week. We also have our largest tides of the spring which will help to pull fresh fish into the system quicker.
Tight lines next week
