It may still be in Winter but anyone would be forgiven for thinking that it was April or May with Long periods of warming sunshine and air temperatures up to 14c by Saturday afternoon. This has also helped to warm the water up a little with the temperature hovering between 5 and 7c, definitely a more helpful temperature in comparison to the freezing conditions only a few weeks ago.
It is really surprising not to have another fish caught this week but with the largest tides of the year to date next week and more settled weather forecast we wouldn't be suprised to see another fish or two.
It is great to see the caithness countryside coming back to life. Snowdrops seem to be sprouting up overnight and the oystercatchers and curlews calls can already be heard up and down the river, spring is definitely on it's way and is one of the best times of the year to be on the riverbank.
Tight lines next week and stay safe
