Weekly Report

Below is the weekly report for Sunday, March 27, 2022

We ended the week with three fish which considering overhead conditions is very encouraging and with numerous fish seen throughout the system there can be no doubt now that decent numbers arrived over the last seven days.

The weather for much of the week was glorious with clear blue skies light winds and without these conditions there would have been more fish caught.

If one angler deserves a fish for his perseverance during the first 11 weeks of the season it has to be Eddie Bremner. Come hail, rain, sleet or howling gales Eddie would give it everything and he was rewarded on Wednesday with a fresh (lice just off) 9 pounder from the dale stream on beat 8.

Saturday was probably the best fishing day of the week with good cloud cover and a steady breeze so it was unsurprising that two were caught, what did come as surprise  was the same lucky angler catching both fish. One of our well knows ghillies David Risbridger was the man of the day taking an 8 pounder before lunch from the upper bridge pool on beat 4 before doing it again with a 10 pounder after lunch from the Braal pool. Well done to both Eddie and David.

Looking ahead to next week it looks like a warm dry and possibly bright start is on the cards but a change is on the way by midweek with a cooling wind coming from the north from Wednesday onwards with a high probability of snow.  What is that old saying about March, in like a lamb out like a lion!

Tight lines next week
