Another week goes by and the wait for some serious rainfall across the north coast of Scotland continues, its during prolonged dry spells like this we are thankful we have the backup of loch More without which the river would of been on its bones weeks ago. Large tides during the later half of the week helped to pull a few fresh fish into the lower beats.
The overhead conditions have not been the most helpful, most days the temperatures reached 20c and there always seemed to be a humid thundery feel in the air and with lights wind everything was against our anglers, it was more barbeque weather and thanks to the staff at the Ulbster Arms many of our guests enjoyed throughout the week.
So what will next week bring? Well the weather forecast is giving a cooler northerly air flow and with the nights getting longer hopefully this will bring the water temperature down which has been generally in the late 60s Fahrenheit.
Tight lines and safe travels for next week
