Weekly Report

Below is the weekly report for Sunday, January 23, 2022

The weather over the past week can only be described as unseasonably mild with air temperatures as high as 12c on Saturday making it feel more like early spring than the depths of winter, the only day that was relatively cold was Wednesday when we lost the warm southerly winds for a day and colder winds came from the north with showers of hail and sleet.

With only sporadic showers midweek water levels remained pretty consistent at just over 1 foot on the Halkirk gauge. That elusive early spring salmon is still to be caught but with fishing pressure being particularly light any fish that have entered the system could quite easily make it through to loch More unseen.

Tight lines to those who venture out next week.
