It has been a very cold week in Caithness with air temperatures rarely getting above freezing through the day and dropping well below freezing at night.
One of the biggest problems caused by this is that the river has gradually started to ice over and many parts(especially slow stretches) have completely frozen over.!!, along with grue it has left the river lightly fished by all but the hardiest of anglers this week.
Looking to next week there are signs of a warmer spell coming early in the week, which in turn will lead to a thaw and I would expect the river to have a rise in levels.
Tight lines to all who venture out next week
