As another week comes to an end without any fish in the book it could be best described as what could have been. Our anglers had a few opportunities throughout the week with numerous fish hooked but unfortunately long range catch and release was in force. It is good to hear that a few fish are also starting to be seen up and down the river.
The overhead conditions would be best described as stable and predictable with periods of bright sunshine most of the week and that constant southeast wind which adds a chill to the air temperatures. Next week looks like high pressure will be in control of our weather with lighter winds and a significant rise in air temperatures by midweek.
The one bonus of clear skies in Caithness during the darker nights is the chance to see the northern lights (aurora borealis) and they did not disappoint on Monday night with a spectacular display.
Tight lines next week.
