That's the first full week of the season been and gone and other than a handful of kelts we have no fresh fish to report, but I have no doubt there will be one somewhere in the system!
The week gave us all sorts of weather, strong winds and rain, snow, hard frosts and the week ended today with a spectacularly calm clear day.
The river levels on Monday was 30 inches and with a few periods of heavy rain maintained a steady level most of the week, the cold weather arrived on Thursday night which took the level down quickly in 48 hours ending the week at 15 inches.
Looking ahead to next week the cold weather looks set to continue well in to the week but I would still expect to see some regular locals brave the elements in search of an early fish.
Tight lines to all wetting a line on the river Thurso next week.
