Another week comes to an end with 22 fish in the book. Monday was the warmest day in nearly a month but it turned cold again until Saturday thanks to the relentless north east wind, we had a rise on Wednesday evening peaking out on Thursday afternoon with all the lift in levels coming from loch More.
Colin Sommerville got us of the mark for the week with a lived 11 pounder from beat 11. Lawrence Dalglish had a memorable first trip to the Thurso taking 4 fish including 3 in one day from beats 8 & 9. Richard Medley's perseverance paid of with a fine fresh fish from the broad pool (beat 9) on Saturday and his team of rods picked away with Nigel Steele taking 2 from beat 8 on Tuesday. Father and son team Mark and Will Newton had 5 fish between them with Mark taking our largest for the week from Gerston on beat 4 on Saturday weighing in at 15 pounds. ( pictured above). And last but not least Mr Christopher Hill had a a brace of fish including one on his birthday from the Cruives eye on Wedensday. (pictured below)
So what will next week bring?? well loch More is full and spilling over the top and early indications are that we may finally loose that cold wind so hopes are high for a decent week.
Again please take care on the roads in Caithness and in particular form Westerdale to Loch More
tight lines next week.
