This past week saw us bookended by two named storms, first was storm Ciara followed by storm Dennis.
Thankfully both of these low pressure systems proved to be more of an inconvenience but with the aftermath of storm Ciara bringing in cold air from the north the first real signs of winter were felt on the river, snow, hail and sleet pushed on by brisk winds gave a very cold feel to the week. Wednesday night through Thursday morning also saw the coldest night of the year getting as low as minus 7 at loch More.
Some brave Anglers ventured out in search of our first fish but with river levels jumping between 16 and 36 inches these unsettled conditions hindered their chances.
The week ahead looks more of the same with brisk winds and wintery squalls
