Weekly Report

Below is the weekly report for Sunday, May 15, 2022

The past week began with the promise of heavy rain which in all honesty did not materialise, what we did get was strong winds and good cloud cover which certainly seemed to make the salmon more confident in taking our angler's flies giving us a weekly total of 19 fish, if only we got a lift in river levels this number would without doubt be significantly higher.

All of the fish landed were in the 8 to 12 pounds range apart from one just short of 18 pounds for Mr Jonathan Morsehead from the lower Suilag on beat 3 which he quickly followed up with another from upper Suilag within an hour.

Will Newton had a brace from beats 10 and beat 3 (pictured above) his fishing companion Christopher Hill had 3 to his rod. Miss Tori Tomlin had her first ever spring salmon from beat 9, James Robbins, Richard Medley and Stuart Ingledew all adding to the week's catch.

It was good to see a decent number of fish entering the river over the past 7 days and if the overhead conditions stay in our favour we should continue to pick away steadily.

Tight lines next week.
