Well it's been a week already since the 2019 season came to an end.
The weather has been settled this week and reasonably warm for early october with southerly winds pulling in warm air.
The boats on loch Beg, beat 6 and loch More have been removed from the water, the lunch huts are cleared out and secured for the winter.
The season total of 1774 only tells part of the Thurso's story, once all catches from the 12 rotating beats are added to the catches from beat 1 and the private beat it gave the Thurso as a whole 2,153 fish for the season.
The heaviest fish for the season came on the 6th of september on beat 10 (cruives eye), it was caught by Jamie McCarthy and weighed 27 pounds. Well done Jamie.
And well done again to Eddie Bremner who had our first fish of season way back on the 2nd of march from beat 3 (7 pounds) , again very well done Eddie.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the winter months.
