Well at last something positive to report, with the first fish off the river on Friday. Pat Quinn was the successful angler, with a 9lb fish taken from the rock pool on beat 9. The rock pool is one of the favourite pools to pick up a spring fish, it was Pat's third time down the pool before the fish took. Earlier in the day Pat was going to the top of the beat and got stuck in the snow and had to be rescued by the Cavalry, so all in all an exciting day!
Conditions on the river have improved after last week and with the river running at a 22" it is perfect for fishing. Having said that I am not sure about next week, we have rain coming tonight and tomorrow morning and I expect the river to be up on Sunday, so early next week we might see the river a bit high but as the week goes on I expect to see some more fish caught.
Tight lines to everybody out next week......Tim Hawes
