It has been a tough week for our visiting anglers and our ghillies. Just when it seemed some decent rainfall was heading our way on Tuesday it stopped short and fizzled out. And as the week progressed both air and water temperatures continued to rise making the salmon very reluctant to show any interest, what it didn't stop them doing is putting on an acrobatic show, hearing the phrase " it's full of them" was common place every day from the rods after a days fishing.
So what will this upcoming week bring us, well although the river is getting lower with ever passing week we are still nowhere near the dire lows of 2018 and fresh grilse are still entering every night, let's just hope some of the thunderstorms forecast for the middle of the week do something to help clear the air and fingers crossed a fresh drop of water.
Tight lines for the coming week
