At times it feels like the County of Caithness could easily be on the other side of the world, for nearly two weeks much of Scotland has been battered by thunderstorms and floods but once again the Thurso catchment missed out. There were heavy downpours towards the end of the week but more often than not it was short and sweet. Our ghillies will have to keep their dancing shoes on for a little longer yet...!
New fish continue to arrive at the estuary on a daily basis and we could only imagine how many thousands are waiting on the right conditions, when it does come right it should be spectacular.
Thankfully the potholes from Westerdale to loch More have been temporarily repaired and should be good for the remaining few months of the season
