The high pressure that has been dominating our weather looks set to continue for a few days yet but thankfully a change may be in the offing later in the week. For the time being we are picking away at a few fish predominately from beats 2,3 & 4 and we would of had a few more if we didn't loose the wind for a few days which any Thurso regular knows gives the angler both cover and a good chance of a take or two.
Having gone through the end of week catches it was quite remarkable to have had six different anglers visiting the Thurso for the first time who all caught fish, George Campbell had a brace from beat 2 on Tuesday and his fishing companion John Stewart had one from beat 10. Marcelo Volpi also had a brace from beat 2. Ken Debney and Malcolm Cheape had a fish each from beat 4 on Friday and Andy Blundell also had one from beat 4 which was the largest for the week at 14 pounds. well done to them all on their first Thurso salmon. Thurso stalwarts Des Hunt and wife Nikki had a fish each as did their son Charlie.
With four full weeks remaining of the season our team of ghillies are still hopeful that we will get some fresh water and end the season on a high.
