Duncan Laird returning a very nice 16lb'r from Beat 9.
I will say, I was not anticipating a total of 41 Salmon for the week. The good overhead conditions, on most days, coupled with rods prepared to go out early and late showed what could be done.
With the lower water it was not surprising to see the lower beats do well. Fresh fish were still running the river and a good proportion of the fish caught were sea-liced. We also saw the start of our grilse run and run they did, they were soon at the top of the river trying to get into Loch More.
Those rods fishing light, with small flies did well.
On Saturday, we had some heavy showers and this gave us a rise of a couple of inches, not a lot, but all rain is welcome. The forecast does has some further heavy showers for Sunday which might give us another small rise.............we will see.
