January has come and gone with no sign of an early Springer, truth be told the weather hasn't been helpful in our search, many days of ice and grue or high water has curtailed fishing efforts.
We move in to Febuary which historically is the month we would normally expect our first fish of the season.
Looking ahead to next week the weather looks set to remain cold with hard overnight frosts and snow flurrys.
The air temperatures have struggled to break above freezing throughout the day over the past week.
Hopefully a little lift in temperatures in the near future will encourage both salar and angler.
