Today we are experiencing our hottest day of the year so far at 25C and with not much change in the forecast. The loch is at its lowest for 25 years and the river is 4cm away from being its lowest since the drought of 1976. All in all a desperate situation for salmon angling,
Looking at the bay, there are a lot of fish waiting to come in and when the rain does come, there could be some spectacular fishing. A few of the grilse have been seen in the river as as the tides build we should pick up some of these in the lower beats.
Today some of the rods are taking advantage of our great sea fishing and have a charter boat in the Pentland firth
