Although we finished the week down on the previous week the gales of the first half of the week didn't help our efforts.
The weather settled down for the last couple of days and with increasing tides liced fish were taken from the lower river.
The water temperature pushed up to 50 Fahrenheit for the first time this season and with this the first signs of the downstream migration of the smolts was seen on many of the upper beats. It is great to continue to see as previous years the large amount of these little gems within the system and furthermore proof how healthy a river is the Thurso
With big tides over the weekend and the weather forcast showing a change to more cooler unsettled weather this should help our anglers for the coming week.
